How does MPPT dynamically adjust the input voltage and current?

The output characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) panels change with variations in factors such as light intensity and temperature. Under different conditions, the output power curve of the PV panel will vary, and there is an optimal working point—the Maximum Power Point (MPP). At this point, the panel's output power is at its maximum. The goal of MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology is to find and track this maximum power point in real time, ensuring that the photovoltaic system always operates at the most efficient state. The Perturb and Observe (P&O) method is a common approach used for MPPT.

  • Basic Principle: By periodically changing the output voltage (or current) of the photovoltaic array and observing the change in output power, it is possible to determine whether the system is close to the maximum power point.

  • Working Process: If the output power increases after changing the voltage (or current), continue to change in that direction; if the output power decreases, change in the opposite direction.

  • Advantages and Disadvantages: The P&O method is simple and easy to implement, but it may lead to oscillation, especially under rapidly changing light conditions.

  • Working Process: If the output power increases after changing the voltage (or current), continue to change in that direction; if the output power decreases, change in the opposite direction.

Application of Prefabricated Substation Enclosures in Utility-Scale PV Plants at High Altitudes
Application of Prefabricated Substation Enclosures in Utility-Scale PV Plants at High Altitudes
In recent years, driven by policies and the enabling environment, the domestic new energy industry has achieved rapid development. A large number of photovoltaic (PV) projects have been introduced into the power market, and high-altitude PV projects are among them. If prefabricated cabin substations can be utilized scientifically and rationally, high-altitude PV projects can feature short construction cycles, quick commissioning, and relatively low investment levels. This is of great significanc

Research and Application of Prefabricated Enclosure Structure for High-Voltage Compartments in Substations
The economic development demands higher efficiency in substation construction, giving rise to prefabricated cabin substation technology. With modular design, equipment wiring, commissioning, and prefabrication are completed in factories, requiring only "building-block" assembly on-site. Take the 10kV prefabricated high-voltage room as an example: equipment and cabin are installed in the factory, with on-site work limited to busbar and cabin assembly. The main transformer incoming line connects v
